Naupaka: Two hearts. One love.
In ancient Hawaii, a beautiful princess named Naupaka, fell in love with a handsome fisherman named Kaui. They wished to marry, but because Naupaka was royalty and Kaui a commoner, the Gods disapproved. Princess Naupaka took a flower from her hair, tore it in two and gave half to Kaui, telling him to return to the sea while she would live her days alone in the mountains. Today, there is a Beach Naupaka plant and a Mountain Naupaka plant, each bearing half a flower. When placed together, the two lovers are reunited, their love made complete.
Our wedding chapel is inspired by the story of Naupaka and Kaui.
