Prix Fixe Perfection
Our Valentine’s Day weekend was a sweet success, thanks to all of our guests and our staff. In case you missed it, love was in the air, and guests dined on a five-course prix fixe menu, made exclusively for this special occasion. Many guests also treated their loved ones to a bouquet or arrangement from Lily Rose, which was delivered tableside.
Our entire staff’s dedication to superior service and exceptional food is what creates memorable and authentic dining experiences for you all to enjoy, and a great deal of thought and attention goes into creating each and every prix fixe menu. For example, our sous chef Kawika came up with the idea to use port wine in our Valentine’s Day prix fixe dessert and our pastry chef Makoto tested many ways of using it. What landed on the menu was a Chocolate Mousse Cake with Milk Chocolate Velvet Spray, accompanied by a port wine poached pear ice cream. The two-layer chocolate mousse was made with the premium French chocolate brand, Valrhona, and the top layer consisted of a pistolette with milk chocolate. For the ice cream, spices like cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla added a depth of flavor to the port wine, and the fresh pear puree made the aroma stand out even more. The refined flavors of this decadent dessert were the perfect ending to our guest’s romantic Valentine’s evening at 53 By The Sea.
